Important Responsibilities

  • Bills or laws usually begin in the House.
  • All appropriations of money is decided by the House, and Senate has to approve, then the President signs it into law or rejects it sending it back to Congress for changes.

Senate

Important Responsibilities

  • Senate approves candidates for government positions, as in the President;s cabinet.
  • Senate also approves Supreme Court Judges SCOTUS, and also lower court judges. The President nominates the individual, and the Senate approves or rejects the candidate. Judiciary Committee does a preliminary interview, and then their recommendation is given to the full Senate for floor vote.
