“You will buy an Electric car” this analysis looks at the push to make people buy and use electric vehicles. It is incredible that Democrats want to force people to spend their own money in order to back their ideas and line the Democrats pockets. Electric cars pollute the environment more than gasoline cars do. The only difference is the gas cars pollute on the road, and the electric cars pollute at the gas and coal plants that power the grid.
Somewhere in all the shuffle and wrangling about climate change, something was overlooked. We in the United States live in a free country. Whether we own a car or what kind of car we own should be a matter that each person decides for themselves.
Recently in the news, Buttigieg made an off-hand comment that if people don’t like paying high gas prices, they should buy an electric car. I find several things wrong with that attitude. Firstly, this is a crass, gross business practice to force people to buy something. If they want everybody to buy an electric car, make it great and make them cheaper than gasoline vehicles, and they won’t have to use strong arm tactics. But to try to force people away from carbon fueled vehicles by driving up the price of gas is just extortion.
The entire problem with the Green Plan is that it just doesn’t work. It is extremely expensive and in the end, it does not save the planet at all. The batteries for those things (which are more expensive than the rest of the vehicle) are made from highly polluting elements (mostly found and extracted from the earth in China). So our buying practices are upholding China’s economy now? I don’t see it.
Moreover, where does the electricity come from to power one of these electric vehicles? From the local power grids that are being heavily taxed at the present. These power grids are being powered from diesel and coal generators. Both pollute more than gasoline. So where is the point of “saving the planet”? It is not in being forced to buy an electric car.
Electric battery powered cars have a bad tendency for the batteries to explode. Isn’t that a safety hazard? Why are they allowed to put people’s lives in jeopardy, when in gasoline combustion cars this would call a recall of all of them?
See also Poll: Most Voters Oppose Efforts to Ban Gas-Powered Vehicles
A new poll conducted by the Convention of States and the Trafalgar Group found that an overwhelming plurality of voters do not support measures to ban gas-powered vehicles, even though Joe Biden has voiced his support for such laws…
With a margin of error of 2.9 percent, over 40 percent of the poll’s respondents said that “increasing domestic oil and gas production” is the best solution. By contrast, just 25.5 percent answered with “focus new energy investments on renewables like solar and wind.” Only 1.4 percent of voters said to “eliminate gas-powered vehicles and move to electric.”
The poll found that among Democratic respondents, only 3 percent voiced support for banning gas-powered cars. Among Republican voters, 0 percent of respondents supported this option.
If you consider that “green energy power sources” like solar and wind just are not producing enough electricity to power the grid “as it now is”, even less will they be able to power it with all electric cars. This movement is pushing us into a situation where there just will not be energy to power modern life. This is the problem. Coal and oil are the solution. So it is better to go slow on killing all coal and oil now, rather than force us into a corner. Gavin Newsom’s California power grid cannot handle their energy use now with mostly gasoline powered cars, so why is he the solution?
