Murder is Morally Wrong is a “sermon” on why murder is morally wrong, and our society should oppose it at every turn.

God, our Judge, Exists
The Bible says that God exists. It does not give us an explanation of how God came to exist, He just exists. God has existed for all time. If we cannot really understand time, then even less what God is. But we understand that God is all powerful, and that God has moral character, and to offend His moral character is to come under His wrath.
God made our universe and our world. He also created animals, and even spiritual beings, angels, to serve Him and His purposes.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
The point in this verse is that man is a reflection of God. What is done to any man (or woman), it is as if they could do that to God, they would. They are doing good or evil directly to God. This case is taken up a level when you are speaking of God’s children.
Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
While it is more forcefully stated in Matthew, it is the same principle as in Genesis 1:27.
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Deuteronomy 5:17 Thou shalt not kill.
Leviticus 24:17 And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.
The commandment is that we are not to take another person’s life. To be more precise, it is to premeditatively plan and execute the plan to take away the life of another human being. Animals are not included in this, because they are not made in God’s image.
Abortion is murder
Abortion has to be understood to be murder of an unborn human child. If all things are left to develop naturally, in most cases, the fetus will be born and will be a human being, so it already is a human being in the belly of her mother. Taking a baby’s life is wrong in so many ways.
Accidental Murders
The Old Testament makes a distinction between premeditatively taking a person’s life, and another person’s death by accident. If the person’s property was properly protected from accidents (shutting up a mean bull in a pen or putting a rope on him), then the owner of that bull is protected if somebody goes near him, and that person dies.
So accidental deaths are not really murders, but they can be through carelessness.
Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
This verse places two verse strict rules on reacting to murder. 1) Murder is morally wrong because all human beings are made in the image of God. 2) It is man’s responsibility to avenge a murder. This does not fall on just anybody, but to civil government.
Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
The Bible does NOT command mankind to reform a murderer. We are instead to execute the sentence of God, “he who takes a life, should he himself die by man’s hand”. This is the civil authority or government that should thoroughly judge the case, look for all possible mistakes in the case, and when it has decided that a premeditative murder has taken place, they should execute that person. Mercy should not be given to a murderer, because the murderer showed no mercy in the case of the life that the murderer took.
Hatred is Behind Murder
Matthew 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
We need to understand that murder and hatred is on a line to one extreme, and love, and giving one’s self to save somebody else’s life is on the other extreme of this line.
In other words, hatred is just as wrong as murderer, just not with the same consequences. But both are equally cursed by God.
Hamas Killing of the Jews on October 7
There is a lot of rhetoric floating around in the news on what the Palestinians did to the Israelis on October 7. But a lot of this is just twisting and turning of the facts beyond what is true. To understand all of this, we need to look beyond what is on the surface (though that is pretty obvious), and delve into what has been underneath for a long time.
What is on the Surface
Firstly, these are two different countries that border each other. They are enemies. They have different thought processes and religions. But respecting their own religious beliefs, we need to examine this.
- Hamas invaded Israel. In any other context, one country that invades another to do harm, occupy, rob, etc. has declared war on that country. In this context, whatever Israel does to Palestine, to the Gaza Strip, is justified. You cannot apply rules that only apply to help one side and not the other. Hamas hurt Israel, it is justified that Israel hurt Hamas. In these wars, Hitler wanted the total destruction, murder, or every Jew in the world. What happened to Hitler and Germany was justified by the Allies, that hurt them in return.
- Hamas hates Israel and all Jews. Their actions are understood by them as being jihad, a religious war on everybody that is not Muslim. Even within their “Muslim brotherhood”, they commonly hate other Muslims, and they regularly attack, kill, ransack, steal, etc. from other Muslim nations and within their own group, so hatred is their way of life. This hatred is not based on anything “recent”, but goes back generations.
- Palestine exists to cause pain and death on Israel. As Yasser Arafat once made the point, he would not accept the Jews moving to another part of the world, he wanted them ALL DEAD! Hatred is bound up in their religion, Islam.
What is below the Surface
Below the surface, there is a grave error in Islam, hatred. While Christianity presents God as love, (love being doing good to others), Allah is presented in the opposite frame, hatred, murder, doing harm to others. You cannot deal with this great “Grand Canyon” of these differences between the two mindsets without getting involved into religion and faith. The Muslim “shows his faith” by attacking and killing. Within the Israel invasion on October 7, having mercy while killing these people was nowhere to be found. They tortured babies in front of their parents before killing the babies and then all their family.
James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
Our “God of love” takes a dim view of people who cannot find mercy and forgiveness within their own hearts and actions towards others. God will have no mercy on those people. Should we then allow Muslims and Muslim supporters to use the concept of “mercy” for the Palestinians as moving us in any way? I would think not.
Funny, isn’t it? When they entered Israel to kill and loot, they were Hamas men warriors. When Israel retaliates, it is not Hamas who is suffering, but Palestinians women and children. But Israel was seeking these grown men soldiers, not children and the elderly like Hamas did. You really cannot escape the judgment of God that way.
In the media, Israel is blamed because they will not allow very much in the way of food and medicines into Gaza. The emotional plea that there are children and elderly starving to death in Gaza because of Israel. Yet when they flooded the tunnels, they stripped all the soldiers (grown men) to their underwear, and they were overweight! So whatever goes on in Gaza really, the soldiers are overweight and fat, and the children and elderly are starving. Can you ignore this point? No. These people should not be allowed to rule their own country. Their hatred for the Jews overcomes any consideration of mercy on their own families. This is an obsession that should be dealt with strongly, and these adults should be chastised.
Commentary on how to Deal with Muslims
All of the above is to come to this point. How do WE deal with Muslims? So the first thing to say is that God has given us an obligation, a responsibility to protect ourselves and our own. There is no right for the United States to allow these type of people to immigrate into our country. That is like giving a bath to a child and pouring sewage into his bathtub. Why would anybody in their right mind do such a thing? They wouldn’t.
Our government nulls out people with such conduct. We warn them, we make laws against these kinds of things, we incarcerate such people, and in a final confrontation with such conduct, we take their lives away from them (through jail/prison, and then through the electric chair).
But if we do this, as we morally have command from God to do, then why empty jails and prisons in foreign countries to cause us more of this type of problem? The normal taxpayer has to pay for police, judges, lawyers, prisons, etc. It is like injecting cancer cells into a person fighting cancer. Why would you allow this? Why wouldn’t fight it?
On Further Thought: What does allowing Murder to Exist Among us do?
One of the things that makes a country work, is when its citizens work hard, make money, and they “possess” something. Above all things that they possess and cherish, the most important thing is their own lives, and the lives of their family (family being a cherished possession). When all of that which you possess can be ruined in a second by some hateful person which kills others, then the person’s life becomes the opposite of what they want. Peace, liberty, possessions, and the enjoyment of life and the fruits of their own labors. If a man works two years to buy a car, and a thief steals it. Then in a few moments, that thief has taken away two years worth of his life. Where is justice in our country?
See Breitbart on Cashless Bail
Some months back there was an article on a man who stole a car, and was caught the same day, and by evening, he was apprehended again stealing another person’s car. Where is justice in that case?
While stealing several years of a person’s life efforts by taking their vehicle, that is nothing in comparison to taking a person’s life. God is right in judging harshly this thing called murder. In the end analysis, if Muslims want to live the hatred of their religion, let them. But not next door to me. If we have not totally lost control of our country, we need to stop what is basically the antithesis of Christianity from overtaking our country.
Murder is Morally Wrong
My Tracts on Church Attendance The first and foremost reason to go to church is because God commands us to do so (Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.).
Coming in behind that direct command of God, we go to church in order to worship God Himself. How? Simple. We hear the Word of God actually read and carefully explained, and then we assimilate those principles y exhortations into our personal lives, and that is worship. Without those elements, there is no worship, and there is no success at "going to church." It is fruitless spiritually, and without spiritual benefit to your life, you will get discouraged and stop going, stop being committed to it, and it will ruin your life because you are a hypocrite.
