If she lied or misrepresented herself and her situation when applying for citizenship, then she has to be penalized and/or lose her citizenship. Why is this even questioned or opposed if Democrats stand by the idea that nobody is above the law?
An Aside on the Democratic Party
As an aside observation on the Democratic Party, they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to come up with politicians to put up for office. When they have to push Muslims, foreigners, etcetera to just have candidates, you have to wonder why. America needs statesmen, not yes-men. We need politicians who are willing to take the effort to investigate issues and find solutions that work for everybody. It would seem that Democrats think the solution to everything is for the American taxpayer to pay more taxes; all that money needs to be controlled by only Democrats, except if there is fraud, then they want to blame Republicans who were kept out of the dispensing of those funds, and all of that focuses on Democrats using Democrat businesses and intermediaries to dispense taxpayer money, and they make a lot of profit in the process, and of course, of that profit, the Democratic Party gets a hefty cut. Is that the best way that things should function? Moving all of that to Republican intermediaries is not any better to be truthful.
Ilhan Omar and Immigration Law
The problem here is that within our American system, even aliens, people born in other countries, can reach political office. What would such a politician as Ilhan Omar do if she were able to heavily influence changes in immigration law, or even the execution of immigration laws? Can we not see how this is just not a good thing? If you think she would not let her situation sway her view and influence, how about the Democratic politicians who are demanding that ICE and the police be defunded and done away with? There is no way you can accept these people and their political influence. They need to be voted out of office by the American voter.
The Bigger Problem
The bigger problem here is the mindset behind Democrats (and some Republicans) who seem to think that some laws can be ignored if it is convenient to their purposes. A lawmaker needs to obey all the laws.on the books. A judge cannot ignore the laws that he doesn’t particularly like at some point. Imagine that judge fining somebody for running a red light, but he does it because he wants to get home to see his favorite soap opera. How can he be considered just in his work, in his decisions as a judge?
Likewise, lawmakers need to be circumspect about their own lives if they are going to take a position of making laws for everybody else. We must insist that they are circumspect. That does not mean that they are “good old boys” that are just like us, but that they live lives that are exemplary as citizens, i.e., that they obey all the laws. When a person cherry-picks what laws they want to enforce and live by, or, better said, what they intend to demand others live by, this shows a disrespect for the entire legal system. Only crooks, criminals, and people of ill will take this position of getting into a position of influence and control, and then using it selectively for their own purposes. Politicians should be in office to fulfill the Constitution and our laws, and serve the people by doing so. They are not in that position of power to strip our country of its riches. They are in that position to wage a vendetta against their enemies, or to fulfill some hidden racism that they have pent up against some group of people.
How to Fix this Problem?
The problem is applying all the law to everybody without exceptions.
