What the Mayo Clinic says about Gender Dysphoria
Gender dysphoria is a feeling of distress that can happen when a person’s gender identity differs from the sex assigned at birth.
Some transgender and gender-diverse people have gender dysphoria at some point in their lives. Other transgender and gender-diverse people feel at ease with their bodies and gender identities, and they don’t have gender dysphoria.
A diagnosis for gender dysphoria is included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). The DSM-5 is published by the American Psychiatric Association. The diagnosis was created to help people with gender dysphoria get access to the healthcare and treatment that they need. The Mayo Clinic is very far removed from some religious persuasion, yet even they, as doctors, recognize that people who cannot accept their birth gender as having a problem within themselves.
The Science
Medical science is very clear, that there are only two genders of human beings, male and female. That definition comes from which set of chromosomes a particular person has, XX or XY. There is no confusion medically, scientifically. The confusion is in the human soul, not in society nor in reality.
God declares that there are only two Genders of Humans: Male and Female
This is very clear from the Bible.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
Deuteronomy 4:16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
Deuteronomy 7:14 Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
Matthew 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
The point is that God only made two genders. These are the options. If there is a Z gender, God did not make male, female and z. The Bible does not admit the possibility of any other genders.
Where is the Problem, then?
The problem is not with the Creator, but with the rebellious creature. In other words, consider what a trans or a gay is proclaiming. “God made a mistake in my case. I am a female in a male’s body.”
