Why wasn’t California Ready for Climate Change? Examines the reason why California was caught unprepared for what they preach to the rest of the country.

Does California not believe in Climate Change? Of course, they do.
If we examine the tsunami that wrecked havoc in the Pacific islands years back, or the eruption of Mount Saint Helens, we have to give those people a break for not being prepared. The probability of an eruption or tsunami is extremely low.
But some people what to be preachers and dictators for the rest of the world, making them think and react as they do in their own crazy heads. So California has an excessively alarmist mindset. This makes their failure at preparing for their own crisis so amazing and ridiculous. They could have just chalked this fire up to a freak set of circumstances that only happen every 50 or 100 years, but no, they have to pin it on Climate Change, which is their terror. Gavin Newsome prohibited gas stoves in the name of the climate change threat, but he could not repair fire engines for the consequences of what they say was due to climate change? Either we are dealing with great hypocrisy or pure stupidity, and in either case, that kind of person has no place in government and decisions of spending billions and trillions of dollars, like the governor of California.
What failed in the 2025 Fires?
The first thing that failed is that they were not ready. When you examine the news, the people who should have warned the government (Newsome and Bass) actually did warn them. The people in power know better than their experts, and so they cut fire budgets. This needs unwrapping more. Because even when Trump took office and at a federal level ordered water to flow from the north into Los Angeles to help the situation, Newsome balked at that and said that it would “help absolutely nothing“.
If you read the news, there are things afoot in the damaged areas. These property owners will probably lose their properties to the government of California. I am sure Newsome and President Trump will square off over the issue, but there are some bad details here.
All the destroyed properties had no fire insurance
Why? The insurers wanted to stay in California and give coverage, but Newsome and the Democrats in charge made it impossible for them to just raise premiums to cover the rising property values. This is a simple matter of the government of California wanting high property values so that they can cover their short falls in their budget with the higher taxes these people have to pay.
But the bitter point here, is that every single one of those that lost their homes DID PAY THEIR TAXES so that the California government can protect them from fires from climate change. That point will fester for a long time in the minds of all Californians.
Rebuilding is not going to be Easy
The Democrat party loves regulations. I saw one place where it takes a few years to get a building permit in California. So Newsome made a law that affects people taxes on their property, and “if in case of fire” they have to have a new house rebuilt and inhabited (permits by the same California government) within a year and half-time frame. I am not sure exactly how this works out, but either they are in a higher tax bracket, or possibly they would lose certain permissions in rebuilding at all. For those who eat saltines in bed, when you are bothered by the crumbs, “you made your bed, now sleep in it.”
California uses a Bait and Switch Strategy
California gets federal tax money on large scales, and what this money is given to them for is very clear. But what they actually do is 1) spend the money in maintaining their top-heavy government. 2) they give large grants to Democrat businesses (that return donations to the party) that do very little or nothing of what the money was supposed to be spent on. 3) Lacking money and in crisis, they want more federal grant money. 4) They give something small to what the money was originally intended to be spent on.
This is big government all around. Trump looks to have a strong hand on stopping this. But who is the harmed here? Is it not Californians? For all their tax dollars (highest taxed people in the United States is California), the CA government could not keep water in the fire hydrants. What a galling thing. It is not that there has been little rainfall in California this year, Newsome let the dams drain their water to the ocean. The Democrats are in a plan to destroy the dams that they already have. Think about that. If the government over there is that out of touch with their own reality, why do Californians still elect Democrats over them?
There is another possibility. This is all planned. They want crisis to milk it for power, control, and money.
