Understanding Narcissistic People

Understanding Narcissistic People are people that worship themselves, and people who do not understand love, which is a characteristic of God.

Many times, the problems in our world are two different people with wildly different world views. I think of the Muslim Hamas versus the Jewish State of Israel. Hamas does not want peace with Israel, they do not just want their land. Hamas wants the death of all Jews. It is hard to understand the unreasonableness of this kind of people. People that glory in killing other people. In stealing, raping, and torturing these people before they die.

But if you “get into their heads” and try to understand why and what has caused this type of mind set, well, it will not help you to get along with them, but it will protect you from retaliating with the same mind set against them. In other words, their evil is not going to infect you, and your way of thinking, your actions, etc.

A narcissist is a person who is wholly consumed with his own self. A narcissist is lonely because, in a real sense, he is the only person in the world as far as he is concerned. Narcissists are people that worship their own being, their own pleasure. Nothing else in the world matters.

I think of how narcissist was Nancy Pelosi when the rest of the world was counting their change because Covid kept them from gainful employment, and people were scared that they might actually starve. But Nancy Pelosi invited a reporter into her kitchen to show off her TWO refrigerators full of just ice cream. These ice creams were the most expensive out there. Why? The reason is that while everybody was scared they wouldn’t have food, the same fear entered Nancy, and her response was to open her refrigerators and review what was up for this month.

I note that ice cream is a commodity that is not forever. Slowly it evaporates, so you either eat ice cream in a couple of months or it starts to visibly “shrink”. Somebody like Nancy Pelosi would throw it out and buy more at that point.

But the issue here is not if a person has money to do what she does, or not. It is not that rich people are self-involved with their own selves pleasures. It is that narcissists have to show off how much they are better than the common person on the street.

Furthermore, it is amazing how many “common people” vote for narcissist Democrat politicians. The Republicans have their own fair share of them also, thinking of you Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, etc. But these people have the idea in their heads that they are “elites”.

These rich people paying bribes to get their children into certain universities and with scholarships is amazing. Why don’t they use their own money to just pay the tuition fees? It is because they have an elite, narcissist mind set that “other people” need to worship them and lavish money, riches, glamour, fame on them. This is the naked Hollywood truth. People in Hollywood cut the word “humility” out of their dictionaries. They add to entries like “great” (“yea like me”). That is how they think. They are amazed that others don’t naturally worship them. In the world of social media of our day, social media accounts with millions of people following them exactly is this self worship.

In my tract I linked to at the beginning of this article, I note that Jesus is the greatest being there is. God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Trinity set everything to focus on Jesus as in Act 4:12, no other name is given among men to be saved except Jesus.

But there are two points here. 1) Not being a narcissist. 2) How to live in a world full of narcissists.

Not being a narcissist.

Unfortunately, everybody has a tendency to being a narcissist. Everybody worries about their own selves, their own well-being. Many parents are exactly the opposite of narcissists because they sacrifice greatly for the well-being of their own children. Unfortunately, today many adults have children, and their children are more mature than the parents.

This is the great take-away for us here, though. If a person finds God, gets saved, then their salvation works within them to move them from a narcissist to a child of God.

The bottom line here is that God is love.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

God defines himself as being love. God commands us to love one another. The entire foundation of Islam is hate. Hatred carried out to the x degree is to kill others.

But God is love. If we meditate on this, we have to ask ourselves, what is love, then? Love is our sacrifice for the object of our love’s benefit. Jesus loves us, so he sacrificed himself on the cross to provide the salvation of our souls from hell.

But love means sacrifice, and involved in this is also service. If a person loves somebody, then they will do things for that person that shows up as service to that person.

The foundation of God’s existence is love. God commands that the foundation of our existence also be love. Only by understanding this will we please God.

Again, we must comprehend and practice from the bottom of our souls love if we are to know God, to be saved and live with God in heaven. A person fully motivated by hate cannot be saved, nor will they live forever with God in heaven. Heaven is impossible for them to understand. Islam teaches that men who die in jihad will go to heaven with a number of sexual and pretty girls (72). What? Heaven is understood only in sex? What about women? The Quran remarks that very few women will make heaven, and hell will be well populated with more women than men. Heaven is mostly populated by men.

All this Quran and Islam is a bunch of contradictions, then. If each Muslim man will have 72 women in heaven, and there are fewer women in heaven than men, more women in hell than men, then what gives? 72 women for each Muslim male means that there should be 72x at least more women than men in heaven. So the numbers do not add up at all. These statements are just Muslim teachers (men) who are trying to convince simple-minded Muslims to die for their religion in suicide missions.

But again, we should understand that narcissism is defined by PEOPLE USING OTHER PEOPLE FOR THEIR OWN ADVANTAGE. Nothing new here.

As a Christian, we should totally reject narcissism, and seek to follow God, loving one another. Note: God commands us to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you).

We have to define love as a spiritual activity, mainly of the will of the individual. Love is not like the flu, it suddenly comes upon you without you doing anything, and just as suddenly it can leave you.

Love is a decision and action, and attitude of the mind and heart that is involved with your will and heart.

How to live in a world full of narcissists.

The problem is not to identify who is a narcissist and stay away from them. Everybody has narcissistic tendencies. It is only when the love of God completes embraces the heart of a person is this narcissism attacked and overthrown. We do this by love, and this is seen in humble service to others. But while we practice service and love, we cannot allow the narcissism of others filter into our hearts, and change our spiritual beings, our moral character.

At the same time, we need to defend ourselves and our own (family, nation, church) from these people who hate. We need to show love, live love. We both find ourselves in love and service, and we lose ourselves in love and service. Furthermore, we morally become like God when we love from the heart.
